Monday’s Weather Outlook; Plains/Midwest/Great Lakes System, Southwest System

On Monday, a system will continue to push est into the Plains and Midwest, while a new system pushes into the Southwest. Snow will be likely in the higher elevations of the Southwest, with showers and storms in the lower elevations. In the Plains, Midwest and Great Lakes, showers and storms will be likely as a front sweeps across the area. There is a slight risk for severe storms in Kansas and Missouri. With limited instibility, some storms may become severe. With the main threats being damaging winds and hail.  In the Northern Plains, on the north side of the system, snow and freezing rain will be likely. Significant accumulations of both snow and ice are likely. Below is the severe weather and snowfall outlook for Monday.

Sunday’s Weather Outlook; Southwest/Plains System

On Sunday, a system will continue to affect the Southwest, as it starts to push into the Plains. Snow will be likely in the higher elevations of the Southwest, where accumulations are likely. In the lower elevations of the Southwest and Plains, showers and storms will be likely. There is a slight risk for severe storms in Texas and New Mexico. With up to 1000 J/KG of SB CAPE and ML CAPE, along with Effective Shear values up to 70KT, and ample moisture as the front moves in. Some storms are expected to become severe, with the main threats being damaging winds and hail. Below is the severe weather and snowfall outlook for Sunday.
