October 22-23rd Plains Snowstorm

20 10 2008

Tuesday-Thursday Plains Snowstorm

9:00PM

On Tuesday, a system will enter the area. As cold air gets pulled into the system rain will begin to turn to snow Tuesday Night. Snow accumulations of 6-9 inches may be possible in portions of Nebraska and South Dakota when all said and done. A few things that may cut down on the snow totals is the warm ground temperatures, and marginal air temperatures in the low 30’s, thus forecasted snowfall amounts may change. Along with the snow will come very strong winds up to 60MPH. When combined with the snow, blizzard conditions may be possible. Below is my snowfall forecast for this system.

October 21-22rd Northeast Snow Event

Tuesday/Wednesday Northeast Snow Event

9:00PM

On Tuesday, a system will move through the region. On the backside of the system, cold air will move in and turn the rain to snow. In the higher elevations, 1-3 inches will be possible, with an isolated 4 inch total not out of the question. In the lower elevation only a trace to 1 inch can be expected. Below is my snowfall forecast map for this system.
