Sunday’s Weather Outlook

On Sunday, a system will continue to work through the Great Lakes, as a new system enters the Western Plains. I have issued a slight risk for severe storms on Sunday, for portions of North dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Illinois, and Indiana. In the Western Plains, in the Afternoon, SB CAPE will get up to around 1500, ML CAPE around 1000, LI’s of -5, and Effective Bulk Shear of 25-35KT. This along with a developing system and moisture advecting back into the region, will allow storms to develop. Some will become severe with hail and damaging winds being the main threats. In the Great Lakes, a few showers and storms will develop along a weak cold front moving through. A few isolated storms may become severe. Below is my severe weather outlook for Sunday.
