Late Week Winter Storm Update/Snow Map


A wave low pressure system will move through the region on Thursday. It will bring Ice, Snow, and Heavy rains to the eastern half of the country. The system is expected to track through the south, it will throw moistue up into the cold air brining several inches of snow and up to a quarter inch of ice(0.25). On Friday another wave of low pressure will move through the south, but a little further north than the Thursday system. On Friday snow will fall once again, with several more inches possible, with ice accumulation under a tenth of an inch(0.10). At this time the states hardest to be hit by snow will be: Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, and Pannsylvania. Portions of Indiana, and Ohio will see more than 6 inches of snow. The states that will be hardest hit by ice are: Oklahoma, Missouri, Northern Arkansas, Southern Illinois, Southern Indiana, Kentucky, and the midatlantic states. Below is a map representation of the storm snow and ice totals, and area’s that will be affected. Please stay tuned to this blog as there will be an update on this storm around 10:00Pm, after the 00UTC models come in.
