Wednesday’s Weather Outlook; Plains/Mississippi Valley/Ohio Valley/Mid-Atlantic System, West System, Midwest System

On Wednesday, a system will continue to push through the Plains toward the Ohio valley, while a new system enters the Northern Midwest and a new system develops in the West. Showers and storms will be likely over portions of the Plains, Ohio Valley, Mississippi Valley and Mid-Atlantic, associated with a system pushing through the Plains and toward the Ohio Valley. There is a slight risk for severe storms across portions of Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennesse, Kentucky, Indiana, Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. Along the cold and warm fronts from Missouri back down through Oklahoma and Texas. CAPE values will be around 5000 J/KG, LI’s of -10 and Effective Bulk Shear values of 40-70KT. This along with the system pushing through, will help storms become severe. Severe storms will develop in from the late Morning into the Afternoon from Missouri down into Texas. these storms will push eastward into the Evening. During the Evening, one or more MCS’s may form and race eastward through the Night with a continued severe threat. Along the front range in portions of Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska; CAPE values will be around 1500 J/KG, LI’s of -4 and Effective Bulk Shear values of 20-40KT. This along with the system pushing through, will help storms become severe. Severe storms will develop across Southeast Wyoming and Northeastern Colorado in the afternoon. These storms will push eastward into the Evening, before weakening as diurnal cooling sets in. The main threats from the severe storms will be damaging winds, hail and tornadoes. In portions of the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic, Morning convection will re-develop during the Afternoon across the regions. With CAPE values around 3000 J/KG, LI’s of -8 and Effective Bulk Shear values of 20-40KT, some storms may become severe across portions of the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley. Somewhat limited coverage will preclude a slight risk from being issued over the area. With the main threats being hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado. In the Northern Midwest, a system will push in from Canada. Showers and storms will be possible across the area, associated with the system. With limited instibility, a few storms may become severe. With the main threats being hail and damaging winds. In the West, a new system will begin developing over the region. Showers and storms will be likely over portions of the region, assocaited witht he system. With limited instibility, a few storms may become severe.
