Saturday’s Weather Outlook; Southeast System, Northeast System, West/Plains/Midwest System

On Saturday, a system will continue to affect the Southeast, while a system pushes intot he Northeast, as a system continues to push through the West. Showers and storms will be likely in portions of the Southeast, as a system exits the region. In the upper Northeast, showers and storms will be likely as a system pushes in from the Great Lakes. In the West, a system will continue to slowly work through the region. Showers and storms will be likely over portions of the West, Plains and Midwest associated with this system. there is a slight risk for severe storms in portions of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Along the stationary boundary in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri; CAPE values will be around 3500 J/KG, LI’s of -8 and Effective Bulk Shear values of 40-80KT. This along with the system pusing in, will help storms become severe. Severe storms will develop in the Afternoon across Western Nebraska. These storms will push eastward through the Evening, before weakening. Once the CAP breaks, other severe storms will develop during the Evening across portions of Souther Nebraska and Kansas. These storms will form into an MCS and race eastward through the Night, with a continued severe threat. Further south along the dry line in portions of Oklahoma and Texas; CAPE values will be around 2500 J/KG, LI’s of -6 and Effective Bulk Shear vaules of 35-55KT. This along with the system pusing in, will help storms become severe. Severe storms will develop along the dry line in the Afternoon. These storms will push eastward through the Evening, before weakening. The main threats from the severe storms will be hail, damaging winds and some tornadoes.
