Winter Storm Winding Down

The major winter storm continues to pull away from the area. Their are some light snow showers left over in parts of Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan. While heavy rains continue to hit portions of the Ohio Valley. This storm produced snowfall amounts of nearly 10 inches. The highest accumulations extended from northern Missouri to Iowa, to central Wisconsin. Travel is still discouraged for portions of Iowa and Wisconsin. There was also a severe side to the storm. Several tornadic thunderstorms hit Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas yesterday. Today the line of storm moved rapidly through Missisippi, and Alabama. It is now moving through Georiga and Florida, where there is a tornado watch out. Severe weather should remain possible for the next several hours, and will dissipate before midnight.
